For years I was trying to motivate myself to workout and eat right, but I kept falling short. I decided I wanted to get a personal trainer to help me stay on track. Once I met Mark I knew he was the trainer for me. Mark is very passionate about his job and he really invests in you. Each session is challenging and the exercises always change. I didn't think certain exercises could get any harder, but Mark always knows how to challenge you. Mark has kept me motivated with both diet and exercise. He is always checking in during the week to see how my eating is going. Mark truly cares about each client and really takes the time to make you feel at home. I am currently down 35 pounds and I can do more than I have in years. When I met Mark I couldn't even run for a minute now I just completed my 5th 5k. I look forward to exercising now and I feel awesome. Even during my exercises at home I hear Mark's voice " you can do it it's only 30 seconds of work". After meeting with three other personal trainers before I talked to Mark, it only took about five minutes of a phone conversation for me to know that Mark was the best choice for me. His enthusiasm and obvious love for his job made working with Mark an easy decision. From the first day of training, Mark approached our relationship with absolute certainty that I can accomplish anything. Mark listened when I explained what I was hoping to get out of working with him and has supported me and pushed me to reach my goals. When I started working with Mark, I found it difficult to walk my dogs around the neighborhood without losing my breath. By the end of each day, my body hurt, I was exhausted and felt terrible about myself. Today, walking the dogs around the neighborhood is not a problem at all. I have more energy throughout the whole day and feel stronger and more confident. Before working with Mark, I joined a gym and tried to workout at home. Neither can compare to the effectiveness of having Mark design my workouts and personally support, encourage and motivate me through each session. Mark has used his professional knowledge to allow me to exercise intensely while keeping in mind the back issues I have. He is extremely easy to work with as far as scheduling and always keeps the lines of communication open, often checking in after a workout to see how I'm feeling. Mark Slater is one amazing person. Not only will Mark motivate clients to achieve their fitness goals, he teaches anything is possible with hard work. I don't know how I can possibly put into words how MSF has affected my life. This has been journey for me but the physical part of my change started Jan 12 2012. That was my first session with Mark. It has now been 3 months and 38 sessions. Everyday is amazing and the changes that I have made with Mark's help is nothing short of amazing.
I started out of shape and very overweight. In just a few short months I am in better shape now than I have ever been in my life. I have muscles and the inches I am loosing makes me feel fantastic!
Mark has an incredible way of pushing your to a point I would never go on my own and he doesn’t do it like a drill sargeant. He listens to your goals and does everything in his power to help you achieve them. My list of goals grows with every day!
I feel for the first time in my life truly happy and it has nothing to do with the number on the scale. It has everything to do with the power I feel. I have taken time to get my mind powerful and now my body is starting to reflect how strong I feel on the inside.
I look forward to the next few months because I will be achieving some of my goals, rock climbing with my kids, a 5k race, and a 5k mud run and let’s not forget the bathing suit! Working with Mark will get you to goals that you never even imagined you could attain. Mark learns you the individual and knows when to push you so you can succeed. Quitting is not an option as great things happen outside your comfort zone. I am someone who likes to work out but was getting a bit bored doing the same old things day after day. I started working out with Mark and I can honestly say that not only have I become stronger, but he pushes me to do things outside of my comfort zone which in turn generate results that I can see. When you work out with Mark he wants to know your goals and then he puts all his knowledge and experience into making those goals happen.
